As a Waste Disposal Authority (WDA) DCC is responsible for the disposal of waste that the District Councils of Devon
collect, known as Local Authority Collected Waste (LACW).
The contract entails the collection of food waste from the District Councils' depots and its subsequent processing.
The proposed contract will have a term of 2.5 years (with the option to extend for a further four years), to bring this in sync with the term of the main food waste contract currently managed by DCC.
